
Both campuses offer purpose-designed classrooms, specialist early childhood libraries, student common rooms and kitchen facilities. Students are at the heart of everything NZTC does and the college prides itself on the wide range of support services available to help students succeed in their studies. The college’s open door policy means that you can call, email or stop by whenever you need support.
LIBRARY
Students have access the college’s extensive book catalogue, online research databases, online journals, and e-books by logging in to NZTC Online.
NZTC also has libraries at its Auckland and Christchurch campuses, which have extensive resources, as well as computer and internet access, photocopy facilities, and space for individual and small group learning are available at these facilities. The college’s friendly campus librarians are on stand-by to help you get the most out of the extensive library and online databases.
ACADEMIC SKILLS SUPPORT TEAM
NZTC has a team of lecturers dedicated to supporting you in the development of your academic skills.

IT HELP DESK
NZTC’s IT Help Desk is available to support students with any IT related difficulties they may encounter. Whether a student is having trouble converting files or submitting an assessment, there is nothing they have not dealt with before. Simply call or leave an e-message and one of the dedicated IT Help Desk technicians will be in touch.
Credit Recognition and Transfer (CTR)
A CTR is the process of awarding credit towards your chosen program at New Zealand Tertiary College for courses which you have already studied at other tertiary providers.
CRT is assessed on a case-by-case basis. If you wish to apply for credit you will be required to pay a $95.00 NZD application fee. This fee covers the cost involved in the assessment process of CRT. Students are required to pay the fee prior to their CRT assessment and interview with New Zealand Tertiary College.
For overseas qualifications:
You may be eligible for credit if you have completed an early childhood qualification at an overseas tertiary institution. Before New Zealand Tertiary College begins the CRT process, you need to get your qualification assessed by the NZQA. Please contact the NZQA for more information on this process www.nzqa.govt.nz
PASTORAL SUPPORT
NZTC’s Pastoral Support Team supports students to deal with any issues, personal or professional, that may affect a student’s performance. The team regularly helps students through health and family issues, and can refer you to external support agencies should you require them.
Please note: NZTC observes and is bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. Copies of the Code are available from the NZQA website.
HELPING YOU SETTLE IN
If you are not from New Zealand, it is appreciated that there will be things you want and need to know. NZTC offers a wealth of information on the international section of their website, covering key areas such as accommodation, medical and travel insurance and eligibility for health services.

ORIENTATION
To help international students familiarise themselves with the college and the New Zealand way of life, NZTC offers a comprehensive orientation. During orientation, students are taken to key sites around the campus cities and given information about emergency services, safety advice, job opportunities and immigration issues, as well as online learning and the academic requirements of the qualifications.
