ACCOMMODATION

On Campus accommodation: Te Henui Lodge provides modern, spacious, secure apartment-style accommodation facilities with managers living on-site. Domestic and international students live on-site, offering great immersion language opportunities for those wanting to practice their English, make friends and learn about New Zealand culture. Located on campus, you’ll have convenient access to the library, and all the attractions of the central city within easy walking distance.

WITT has two on-site accommodation blocks – simply move in and make yourself at home. This is affordable, apartment-like living with spacious rooms in the heart of New Plymouth city. Your room will be clean, private and comfortable to live and study in, complete with private bathroom, fridge, and wardrobe and computer desk. You choose between having your own room and sharing with a room-mate.

FACILITIES INCLUDE: Swipe card access, large commercial-standard kitchen, café style eating areas; TV Room complete with large screen TV and satellite TV; comfortable lounge areas, coin operated washing machines and driers. Security cameras operate.

Homestay accommodation: Homestay offers a caring family living environment, which can ease the adjustment of living in a new country with different food, language and customs. Homestay families welcome international students into their homes and this is an ideal choice for students who want to experience living with a New Zealand family. Homestay accommodation is particularly suitable for students who are studying English Language. Homestay accommodation is assessed and monitored by WITT and is “WITT approved” accommodation.

FACILITIES INCLUDE: Homestay accommodation includes three meals each day, and includes a private bedroom, study facilities, bed linen and towels (e.g. sheets and blankets) and laundry facilities. Homestay costs do not include personal items such as toothpaste, shampoo and toiletries. The costs of telephone calls to overseas countries are the responsibility of the student and arrangements must be made with the host families for all toll calls.

SCHOLARSHIPS

WITT students have free access to Breakout, a national online database which lists over 3900 scholarships. Scholarships (also called grants or awards) are there to benefit students by providing financial assistance.

A range of scholarships and grants is available for students undertaking tertiary study. Some scholarships apply to specific areas of study, others are available to assist students who fit specific criteria (e.g. hardship, ethnicity or school) and yet others are for the general student population.
