Student Café
The cafe is located centrally within Tai Poutini Polytechnics Greymouth Campus and is the info hub for students. It serves a variety of food throughout the day from 9am–3pm. Outside these hours there is a drinks vending machine as well as a small self-service kitchen.
The weekly menu is posted on the TPP Facebook page on Monday mornings.
Tutoro Restaurant
Since 1993, Tai Poutini has operated a training restaurant on campus in Greymouth.
All meals are prepared by the Professional Chef programme students under the watchful eye of the Chef tutor, while the Hospitality students take responsibility for all the front of house service.
Throughout the year we offer a variety of menus and cuisine, commencing with breakfast and lunch and progressing to dinner menus later in the year.
We offer the freshest ingredients prepared to their very best at affordable prices. Your dining pleasure allows us to train students in a realistic workplace environment, preparing them for industry placement at the end of the year.
Library
The TPP libraries are designed to support students in their study and research. Staff are available to assist students in a variety of ways, from help with computers and academic writing to accessing and using a range of resources.
Collections are tailored to the requirements of TPP programmes of study. The TPP Central Library in Greymouth holds the largest collection, but specialist collections of music, audio and production-related titles are held at MAINZ Auckland and Christchurch. Small collections are also held at Wanaka, Westport and Reefton, which relate to courses based on those campuses. Online resources are accessible across all TPP sites.
For students at other sites (and distance education students) or campuses where the collection cannot meet the need, we provide a free delivery and return service from Greymouth campus for course-specific books for study. If it is something that we do not have, we will do our best to obtain it from another source on your behalf.
Our friendly staff have been students too, and are familiar with the stresses involved in study. They can help library users to get the best from their time, by providing easy access to the numerous resources that are available.
