English language teaching is our main focus. Our highly qualified and experienced teachers and selection of courses will provide excellent learning opportunities. Small classes mean more teacher time and better progress. Morning lessons form the basis of all our courses with various options available in the afternoons.

General Course is our standard, and most popular course, 21 hours a week of skills based, and conversation classes, combined with the opportunity to go out into the community and practice the language you are learning in real life situations.

COLC’s General English course offers students the morning classes from 9:00am-12:00pm plus afternoon classes from 1:15pm-2:45pm, Monday-Friday. In Afternoon classes students will participate each other with the teacher by choosing their interested topics that can motivate their learning process. COLC’s has the strong outdoor “Learning by Doing” where students can visit outside classroom such as the Kindergarten, Museum, Library, beaches and shops to interact with Whitianga people and learn about the local environment. Real communication with native English speakers is the outcome and is the key to success of learning languages. Some of the General Course themes chosen by students include Driving Directions, Photography, Cooking, Beach Treasure Hunt, Puppet Theatre, Marina Visit.

Morning Lesson times:           9 am - 12 noon - Monday - Friday
Afternoon Lesson times:        1.15 pm - 3.45 pm Monday - Friday
